Shree Dhanvantary Pharmaceutical Analysis & Research Centre is a research wing of Shree Dhanvantary Pharmacy College and has emerged as a premier contract research organization. The centre is equipped with research facilities like animal activity, in vitro screening, bio analytical, bio synthetic and computer assisted designing sections. The center is working on various screening technology both in vivo and in vitro. Presently the animal facilitation centre is handling projects of manifold areas which include

  1. Process & product development.
  2. Stability profile as per ICH guidelines.
  3. Analytical method development
  4. Preservative efficacy & sterility testing.
  5. Bio efficacy studies.
  6. Mechanism of action of drug.
  7. Toxicological studies
  8. Routine quality control test.

In bio efficacy study validated model on rats and mices have been developed to study effects of drugs in different ailments.

Validated animal models

  1. Antidiabetic activity
  2. Hepatoprotective activity.
  3. Diuretic activity.
  4. Analgesic and anti-inflammatory activity.
  5. Immunomodulatory activity.
  6. Antipyretic activity.
  7. Antiulcer activity.
  8. Anticonvulsant activity.

Antidiabetic activity is the area where in many research projects are being conducted at this centre and different animal models have been developed to understand as to whether the drug is working on type – I diabetes or type – II diabetes. The drug interactions involving enzyme induction and its subsequent changes in the metabolism of another drug are being studied at this centre. Interaction of Anti-ulcer drugs like Omeprazole and Rabeprazole on the concentrations of glipizide and glibenclamide have been studied extensively and the outcome of these results are established at SDPARC.
In addition to above methods the centre has also established state of art acute and sub acute toxicity laboratory to evaluate LD50value as well as oral/iv/inhalation, Non Observed Adverse Effect Level (NOAEL). The centre has a separate team of qualified and dedicated scientists working on different animal experimentations.

Further in vitro screening and enzyme inhibition studies have been thrust areas of research in CRO. In vitro screening for cytotoxicity is well established at our laboratory and has been used as a preliminary interpretation tool for NOAEL antibacterial and anticancer agents.

High through put screening technology have been enforced developed less time consuming accurate sensitive and precise method for selective and non selective cytotoxicity activity.

Advanced bio-analytical tests like bacterial endotoxin test and AIMS test are being carrying out at this laboratory to address to emerging need of material/drug safety data.

Shree Dhanvantary Pharmaceutical Analysis & Research Centre in its endeavor to expand into different areas of research is working on test like carcinogenicity and genotoxicity.
